I just found out it came apart while I was looking at this I have no idea what the inside does I'm going to say it's for zesting lemons that sounds good we'll go with that, the rest of it is to get juice out of it I imagine it would also work on an orange or any juice producing fruit of a similar size but this one because of the yellow handle, has been particularly designed for lemons
